What is NuJourney?

How do I get started with NuJourney?
Download NuJourney from the App Store, create an account, enter your stats and goals, and start logging. The app generates daily tasks to guide you through workouts, nutrition, and journaling.
Is NuJourney available on Android?
NuJourney is currently iOS only (iPhone and iPad). Android is planned for future release.
Do I need gym equipment to use NuJourney?
No. You can log any exercise - bodyweight workouts, home gym equipment, or commercial gym exercises. Create custom exercises for your specific routine.

What does the free tier include?
The free tier includes: unlimited workout logging, unlimited nutrition logging with barcode scanner, CBT journal access, daily check-ins, basic achievements, gym community access, and 7-day analytics. You can use it forever without paying.
What does Premium add?
Premium ($12.99/month or $79.99/year) adds: 90-day analytics (vs 7 days), Apple Watch auto-sync, progressive overload tracking, wellness trends and correlations, custom training programs, all 30+ achievements, and data export.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Premium includes a 14-day free trial. Cancel anytime during the trial with zero charge.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through our website (Stripe), not the App Store. Log in to your account and manage your subscription from the settings page.
Workout Tracking
How do I log a workout?
Tap the workout icon, select or create exercises, enter sets/reps/weight, and save. The live timer helps track rest periods. Your workout is automatically saved and contributes to your analytics.
What is progressive overload tracking?
Progressive overload is gradually increasing training stress over time - the key to building muscle and strength. NuJourney tracks your volume (sets × reps × weight) and shows if you're progressively overloading. Available on Premium.
Can I create custom exercises?
Yes. Create custom exercises with your own names, categories, and notes. These appear in your exercise library for future use.
Can I create workout programs?
Yes. Premium users can create custom training programs with multiple workouts, periodization, and scheduled rest days.
Does NuJourney sync with Apple Health?
Yes. NuJourney integrates with Apple HealthKit to sync workouts, read heart rate, sleep, and steps. Premium includes Apple Watch auto-sync.
Nutrition Tracking
How do I track my meals?
Use the barcode scanner for packaged foods, search the 1M+ food database, or create custom foods. Log meals throughout the day and view your daily macro breakdown.
Does NuJourney have a barcode scanner?
Yes. The barcode scanner works with most packaged foods worldwide and is available on both free and Premium tiers.
How accurate is the food database?
NuJourney uses verified food databases with 1M+ items. While smaller than some competitors, the data is accurate and covers common foods, branded products, and restaurant items.
Can I track macros (protein, carbs, fat)?
Yes. NuJourney tracks calories and full macro breakdown (protein, carbohydrates, fat). Set custom macro goals based on your needs.
Does NuJourney calculate my TDEE?
Yes. Enter your stats and NuJourney calculates your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and suggests calorie/macro targets based on your goals.

What is CBT journaling?
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) journaling is a structured approach to identifying and challenging negative thought patterns. NuJourney includes a 7-step thought record system for managing gym anxiety, motivation, and building mental resilience.
Is my journal private?
Yes. Journal entries are private and encrypted by default. You can optionally keep them local-only (not synced to cloud). Only you can see your journal.
How does CBT help with fitness?
CBT helps manage gym anxiety, overcome motivation dips, address emotional eating, and build a healthier relationship with exercise and food. It addresses the mental side of fitness.
Gamification & Community
What are aura points?
Aura points are NuJourney's gamification currency. Earn them for logging workouts (50-200 pts), meals (10-30 pts), and journal entries (40 pts). Points contribute to your level and appear on gym leaderboards.
How do achievements work?
Unlock achievements by completing fitness milestones: workout streaks, logging consistency, PRs, and more. Free users get 10+ achievements; Premium unlocks all 30+.
What is the gym community feature?
Join your gym's community page using their unique code. See weekly leaderboards, compare aura points with other members, and get accountability from your gym community.
